    Gala 2010
    Le Chocolate
    Sunday, April 18th, 2010

    Decorations:
-Color scheme: Crème, caramel, red, black, anything else that goes
    -Center-pieces (Jennifer has idea/s)
    ~How much will this cost?
~Do you need materials? Such as?
    -Chocolate kisses on table?
-Maybe we could invest in our own table cloths to match the theme?
-Maybe we could drape cloths over the door-ways and around the room?

    Entertainment:
-Alicia is in charge of Entertainment. That entails communicating with the performers, making sure they have all they need, handling CD's and music, keeping track of who's up and who needs to get ready)
-Auditions are planned for Wednesday, February 3rd after school in the gym.
    -Judges: Alicia, Clare, Robert, Lia.
-Ask the art teachers to announce to their classes about the auditions,
~Emily will write something out for them to say to the class.
-Announce at the end of the audition who made it and also post a list the next day of who made it in.
-For the audition, each performer will write on a 3x5 card (Will be provided to them) of all they’ll need for their performance. (Mic, CD, amp, chair, podium, etc.)

    Dessert:
-Julie’s cousin offered to make chocolate covered pretzels for tables for free.
-Perhaps get chocolate donations from Morley Candy, Rocky Mountain
    Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
-Fruits (Strawberries, Grapes, Pineapple) Perhaps donated by Randazzo’s. Also have pretzels, rice krispies, and some others. Donated?
-Vintage House is able to provide a commercial chocolate fountain.
~We will have to provide the chocolate, dipped goods, etc.

    Fashion Show:
-Robert and Clare (Nailah and Dominique showed interest in being involved with the fashion show) are in charge of the Fashion Show. (Entails keeping models up to date with what’s going on, Making sure the models are dressed and "beautified" on time, Making sure the clothes stay in tip-top condition, and keep all of their original and correct tags. Make sure all the clothes get back on a hanger nicely.)
-For each Model: 1 casual outfit and 1 formal outfit. About 16 models. Give or take.
-Auditions are set to be Wednesday February 3rd after school in the gym.
    -The judges: Clare, Robert, Nailah.
-A student at the school has a mother who works at Macy's and she may be able to get us clothing to wear for the show.
-If that doesn’t work, Nailah said she can talk to Dale Dorlin (alumni student who worked at Macy's and works for another clothing store currently.)
-Mr. Spayde suggested that we use Travel Trailers for the dressing rooms. One for the boys and one for the girls. We'll ask Vintage house and see what they think.
~Lia may be able to get one for us.

    Potential Sponsors:
Coney Island, Macy’s, Macomb Mall, Randazzo’s, Ram’s Horn, Morley Candy, Brio’s restaurant, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Apple Bee’s, Guitar Center, McDonalds, Geoffrey Fieger (Big Lawyer, Julie’s sister works with him)
-Fundraising goal: $3,000 including all expenses taken out. Ticket’s last year alone made $3,500

    Logistics:
-The event is scheduled for 3PM-6PM.
    ~THis may change.
-Step by Step run-down of program:
~Doors will open to the public. They will be met by Lia, our Greeter.
~Half hour or so later, food is served.
~Given about an hour and a half to eat, we start performances. (Between each performance or so, we will give away a basket)
~About a half hour into performances, Fashion show starts.
    ~Fashion Show is 45min. After-wards, performances resume.
~Conclude evening. All should take about 3 hours.

    Programs:
-There will be a school-wide contest for a cover design.
~The cover will be chosen by leadership council with the guidance of Audrey Mantey.
-The program will be formatted by a student chosen by Audrey.
-We need to find out how long the program will take to be formatted in order to put a due-date on the cover contest.

    Tickets:
    -We’re looking at between $25-$30 a ticket.
-Performers, those working at the Gala, and models are only required to pay for a plate which is $17.
-We will NOT just let people in and take their word that they aren’t going to eat anything. There were way too many problems with that last year.
-Ticket idea: Using a chocolate bar with the silver wrapping and the paper sleeve. Removing the paper sleeve and making our own sleeve and using that as the ticket.
~Angela has a candy wrapper maker or something?
